No endless scrolling. No star ratings you can't trust.
Just tell us what you're in the mood for — we'll handle the rest.
Most city guides are either algorithmically ranked (pay to win) or written by people who haven't visited in years. Roam is different. Every listing is hand-curated, quality-checked against live Google ratings, and filtered by local knowledge — not ad spend.
The AI isn't a gimmick. It means you can ask "what's good for a rainy Tuesday with the kids, not too expensive, ideally somewhere we can walk to from downtown" and actually get a useful answer — rather than a list of sponsored results.
We started with Vancouver because we know it well. The plan is to grow city by city, doing it properly each time — not scraping data and calling it a guide.
Type anything. Your mood, your group, your budget, the time of day, the weather outside. Roam understands natural language — you don't need to fill in filters.
We check today's weather, cross-reference your preferences against our curated database, and rank suggestions based on quality, relevance, and local knowledge.
Choose individual spots or let us build a full itinerary — from a couple of hours to a whole week. Each plan includes insider tips and travel notes between stops.
Every listing on Roam goes through a quality filter before it appears in search results. We combine automated checks with human curation to make sure the suggestions you see are worth your time.
We have a minimum Google rating threshold, a minimum review count to prevent gaming, and a 60-day grace period for new or recently opened venues. Listings that drop below our standards are flagged for review — never auto-removed without a human check.
Hidden gems get the same treatment as well-known spots. A bar with 38 excellent reviews and a 4.4 rating can absolutely earn a place — our threshold is a floor, not a ceiling.
Every listing must meet or exceed our rating threshold. Listings that fall below are flagged for human review, not automatically hidden.
A 5.0 from three friends doesn't count. We require enough reviews to make a rating meaningful — typically 50 or more for established venues.
Great new places deserve a chance to build their reputation. New listings get 60 days before rating thresholds apply.
We check Google ratings every week and flag anything that's changed, so the database stays current without requiring constant manual work.
Every city we launch is built with local knowledge, not just scraped data. Insider tips, hidden gems, and honest "skip this one" judgements.
Roam recommends venues to users who are actively looking for something to do — not passively scrolling through a feed. When someone asks for a "mid-range seafood restaurant near the waterfront", we surface the best matches from our database.
A free listing gets you in the database. A paid plan gets you photos, a booking link, analytics, and the ability to push live information — tonight's specials, a new menu, a last-minute availability — directly into our AI recommendations.
